Description
Take turns asking questions like, “What is a jumbo version of it?” Your opponents don’t get to see the question, but they do see the answer—so yell “SILENCIO!” to stop your spirit when you think you know the answer they’re writing!
Familiar gameplay takes just minutes to learn—teams ask questions to race to figure out the secret object. What could be simpler? Great for 2-8 (or even more!) players, and plays in only 15 minutes.
Phantom Ink: Arcana is a standalone expansion to Phantom Ink. Play it by itself or combine it with Phantom Ink for 175 unique question cards and over 500 secret objects to guess.
Design Story
With Phantom Ink: Arcana we wanted to add new spice to our top 50-party game Phantom Ink. We chose to lean into its spooky ouija aesthetic by adding special tarot-sized Arcana cards that grant special powers. At its core, Phantom Ink is a game about rationing information; how can you give your team clues that help them figure out the secret object, while not giving too much information to the other team? The Arcana cards play with this dynamic by giving players new ways to get information, but still challenging them to do so in a way that hides their intent from the other team. For example, does publicly guessing what letter you think the secret object starts with give too much away?
In addition, the Arcana cards roughly support three types of synergies: ways to make eye powers (revealing additional letters on clues) better and getting more eye powers, ways to play more Arcana cards and benefits for playing Arcana cards, and ways to ask more questions and ways to make asking questions better.
